World Health Organisation guidelines could save hundreds of thousands of EU lives

Meeting air pollution targets set by the WHO could save 238,000 lives per year.

A study has estimated that reductions in pollution from traffic and solid fuel home heating could provide great benefits for health, including reducing the risk of lung cancer, heart attacks, and strokes. The article and study identify the greatest priorities, and locations for improvements in reducing particle air pollutions and therefore improvements in health quality.
