A Guardian article has explored how campaigners and local councils in the UK have called for an effort similar to that taking place in Paris to ban the use of pesticides in urban locations. Such efforts would ensure that open spaces in urban locations would have cleaner air which in turn protects wildlife, and public health. Although pesticides would have been initially used reduce the presence of unwanted weeds in cities, the Olympics has shown Paris as being able to maintain impressive green spaces without the use of pesticides which can be harmful to human health.
