A report has identified Milford Haven, Southampton and Immingham as the highest emitters of sulphur dioxides, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. This has shown that the ports produce more emissions than the registered vehicles in the same regions. The UK sustainable shipping manager at Transport and Environment has urged for the movement away from fossil fuels and the emphasis on net-zero targets.
