Air pollution in Delhi puts Cricket World Cup match at risk

The Independent has published an article that high levels of air pollution in Delhi left the prospect of Sri Lanka’s Cricket World Cup clash against Bangladesh uncertain due to concerns over player welfare.

Severe levels of toxic fumes forced the two teams to cancel their training sessions before the match, following advice from their doctors. The match was ultimately played, Bangladesh won, but only after last minute testing and approval of the air quality from a doctor.
